I am looking for a way to sync my address books across a number of machines. I have mobile me and drop box if that helps. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am doing that now. I wondered if there was a better way.

What's so bad about this way that you need/want a better way? Mark

I sync Address Books using ChronoSync, I just set it to sync the "~/Library/Application Support/Address Book" directory...Could be done using rsync or any other file sync applications...

I guess you could move your Address Book folder to Dropbox and have a shortcut to it...Not sure if OS X would like that though...

You need a mobile me account? I need to do mine as it's duplicating things between work and personal macs. Might have a look at that

Well it has all gone well and they are now synced across my machines. I am regularly getting sync status updates on two of the machines. The third does it without any notifications.

If you don't have a Mobile Me account, any other thoughts on moving the Address Book from an old machine to, say, a nice new iMac?

If you have a completely new machine use the firewire to copy across any data from the old machine. I did that with this one initially. Though keeping them synced was the new problem.

Ah, right, no. Won't. I ventured down this path briefly last night. Wanted to bring over my Mail settings and the like, synced the old account to this one and then spent over an hour + wondering why the mouse was befuddled. Ended up reinstalling OS X, doing updates, and then discovered it was a rogue .kext. New machine, new account, fresh installs, and I'm trying to keep it that way.

That I can understand. I suppose you could copy it manually, and then do all the hard work yourself.
