Wow, that seems really cheap! Now if only I had a Mac to run it on and try it out. :|

PC Advisor replies: “We made that up. Like every other member of the UK media we have no idea what the UK price will be.”

Bet they had good traffic to their website though.

Did you contact them then? It did seem remarkably cheap, but then I know nothing about Apple issues in general :?

It was this bit that made it look like a 'proper' story:

Apple UK will do what they did. Roll 1D20.

My feeling is that Apple hasn’t announced international pricing because of exchange rate variations.

If it announced the price now, then had to raise it later, it wouldn’t look too good, even if they had a perfectly good reason.

That said I think the price will be £19 or £24-25.

I agree. It's advertised a $29 on the site but being in the UK, we can expect to pay a little more. Somewhere between £19 and £25 is probably a very good guess.

I can't wait for Snow Leopard though. At that price, it'll really be worth buying as well.

And you never know, the new pricing structure may set a precedent.

Apple insist they are a hardware company first and foremost, do they not? If they manage to flog enough copies at ~£20/$19 they might keep that price point.

It's a nice thought, but personally I don't see it happening.

I reckon Apple are well placed to take the hit this time. Next tome (10.7), we will be ponying up the usual £99.

Oh - 1D20 - roll 1 20 sided dice.

Sadly not. $29 is an upgrade price, you have to have Leopard. The full version, if you’re still on Tiger, is the same price as usual.
