Anyone use or have knowledge of this? We have just had the software installed on 1 server and pushed "agents" out to 5 others. Now these are programmed to start taking a backup everynight at 7pm and send it to an external hard drive which is also connected to the network. Friday's failed and tonight's has also failed - all the error logs say is "Failed to Create Data Store" - also when I try to "ping" the external hard drives IP address it times-out which would imply it has powered itself down. I am wondering if the fault lies with the way the backup is programmed or the hard drive powering down? I suspect the hard drive as I ran a "test backup" mid-afternoon on just 1 of the servers and that did seem to backup correctly to this hard drive as I could see an image had been created - the hard drive is a Freecom XS. ( http://www.dabs.com/products/freecom-ne ... -6ZWJ.html ) I have got another hard drive arriving Tuesday - a 2Tb Lacie NetWork Space 2 (this one http://www.dabs.com/products/lacie-2tb- ... -6LQ1.html ) Anyone got any thoughts what else might be the problem here? |

If the hard drive is sleeping and isn't waking up, when it is being spoken to, there isn't a lot Acronis can do about it... ![]() We use Acronis with LTO drives here (SAS) and it works fine, I get success e-mails every day from the two servers managing the backups. |

Well popped the Lacie hard drive on the network, pointed Acronis to it and it backed-up all 6 machines fine last night so clearly it is the Freecoms that are the issue. Back they go! |
