There's soooo many to choose from, I was wondering what everyone's favourites are? I need MSN, SIP and Skype. Others such as Google talk are a bonus. I'm currently using the official Skype app which seems fine, in conjunction with Fring which is great at SIP but sucks big time for MSN. It doesn't support multiple logins, smilies or even avatars. It's a PITA when my 'droid logs me out on the PC... I really don't want to have 3 separate applications running, but is that perhaps the only way? Also, anyone know if it's possible to timetable notifications so I don't get woken up by spam at 4am but a text message still comes through? I have (and need) push email turned on, but I really CBA to reconfigure the whole phone every night and morning... I've had this thing for 4 days, and it's already something of a love-hate relationship... |

Trillian It's not on the marketplace IIRC but there is an official client in beta, no idea what SIP is but it supports MSN and google chat on the android client site with the QR code to download from: http://www.trillian.im/get/android/
Tasker It's a paid app but it really makes the phone incredibly customisable, for instance you can set it during the night to use wifi in bursts when checking email and turn off the data connection to save battery, or to auto turn on bluetooth when plugged into a car kit etc I'll have a check on mine tomorrow about the notifications though, but if it's just email to turn off should be possible EDIT: there are some preconfigured ones already that do similar things but for certain numbers, should be possible to customise them easily enough ![]() |

Trying Trillian now. I've used it before on the desktop (didn't like it tbh), but didn't think to see if there was a mobile client.
It's a big part of my job. Basically, it's the open equivalent of Skype used by about a billion people. http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3261 |

OK maybe I'm thick, but it doesn't actually list MSN ? It has AIM, Google talk, ICQ, Jabber, WLM and Yahoo? |

![]() Signed in and seems to work well. I'm still stuck using 3 separate apps for my IM though, and I don't fancy writing one myself ![]() |

Seriously not a good idea. The phone's been sluggish and constantly crashing. Shutting off Skype totally brought it back to life again, which is a pain because I really want to have it running all the time... |

Yes. I'm using it for SIP, but it doesn't do Skype and as per my opening post:
