This phone is stunning! It's the first handset I've seen in ages that I've liked just from looking at it.

I want, I want, I want!

.........

Can't afford, can't afford, can't afford.

Is anyone else considering one?

It's a ludicrous amount of money. No amount of wanting a flash toy would make me consider it.

Looked at getting one yesterday. I've had my eye on it for a while and was waiting for release day itching to grab one. £35 a month contract = free phone. Had a look at a few reviews on t'internet and popped off to Carphone Warehouse.....

...and came home with an HTC Desire HD!

It was a close call but the Nexus feels cheap (plasticky) and not at all like a premium product, it has no expansion (SD), it's screen is smaller than the Desire HD which was an important factor for me and finally for all the talk of the 'purest' form of Android I actually prefer the Sense UI from HTC.

That's a bit [LIFTED] for a phone costing £400+

Let us know how you get on. I've had no end of bother with mine, especially since I upgraded the SD card.

It doesn't seem to like the cold. After being outside, it kept shutting down and refusing to come on again until it warmed up an hour or so later. Although maybe it wasn't the cold, because it's shut itself down once today and it's over 18c in here.
It doesn't like running multiple apps such as Fring and Skype; even though they're doing next to nothing it grinds to a crawl and often becomes unresponsive and crashes.
The phone app crashes if someone calls while you're doing something else; you can't take the call.
The Sense UI crashes a lot, usually when trying to go "home" from an app.
The sound quality is dreadful compared to an old iPhone
Youtube stutters badly
The "play time" is not much over an hour.

I have seriously never used anything that crashed this often. Even Windows ME.

It's been alright so far. The shop recommended using some Task Killer app but to be honest I think it seemed to cause more issues than fix. I uninstalled it and it's been fine.

I like it so far. Nothing horrible has happened (yet!). I did use around 40% of the battery yesterday after playing games and generally messing on the phone (as you do with a new one) but will see how I go over the next week or so when I turn stuff off out of the house e.g. wi-fi and dropping the screen backlight.

Also a big bonus for me is the phone has no branding. Carphone Warehouse give out vanilla models and add the SIM of whichever provider you take out the contract with. I'm very++ glad about this as Nic's Desire was Orange branded and you cannot remove the preinstalled stuff. I also dont want Orange software cocking up my phone.

That is supposed to be the biggest advantage of that phone, along with a top notch support from google. Even old Nexus Ones are going to get Gingerbread. Any Andoid os that comes out, you'll get it first...

Still going good with the phone. Battery life is as expected. By bedtime last night the battery meter was yellow so I doubt it would have gotten through another days use. I simply put it on charge when I go to bed each night then I dont have to worry about it. I'd prefer it if the battery was better but I'm coping so far.
