I'm moving house, and I have to give up my computer room for a computer cubby hole. So I'll struggle for enough room to house my two Samsung SM226BWs. Fair enough, I suppose I don't mind making sacrifices here and there, especially when the missus agreed to a single big monitor ![]() ![]() Sub-£200 would be nice, but I think I could stretch to £250 if it was worth it. So, it will be a 1920x1080 minimum I'm after. I'd like a 30" but she'd kill me if I spent that much cash, and 27" models don't seem all that special when boasting the same resolution as most 24s (opinions welcome on this point). But, what to go for, are LED monitors worth it? I hear their colour reproduction and white level isn't great. Or what about an IPS panel? There are 23" 1920x1080 models out there at the top end of my budget. Any thoughts? [edit] Just seen this, looks nice. |

We've just rolled out 22" Dell's to people at work - lovely monitor - this one http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/prod ... e_irrank=0 as tilts, swivels and height adjusts - only drawback is resolution is only 1680 x 1050 but least it's a 16:10 panel and not those horrible 16:9 ones which I think look odd. |

Trust me - stretch to £250. This is THE current thing to have: http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=Dell+U2311H&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=tRATTabPCKOqhAfZzPy2Dg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CDQQrQQwAA If you don't believe me: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2311h.htm Better to max your budget now and get something superior rather than all the naff TN panels in the sub £200 bracket. |

Yeah, it does look like a lovely monitor. Thanks for the review - I was a little worried about input lag on IPS panels, but the Dell seems to cope very well. |
