Has quality control for RAM suddenly dropped through the floor? I've never had a faulty set of any DDR2 or pre-DDR2 RAM, but have now had 3 faulty sets of DDR3 in a row!

I'm starting to wonder if all these sets really are crap or if my motherboard is chewing threw them. :?

I've yet to have problems with any sort of RAM (although I'm betting I will now I've said that)....

Could be, look what happened to the quality of floppy disks when they got stupidly cheap towards the end

Are you suggesting that we're getting towards the end of RAM? What going to replace it?

So far Corsair and OCZ. I've never had a problem with OCZ before TBH, so I was a little surprised to see a set fail this time.

I find Corsair to be very bloody picky with what it'll work with. Crucial has never let me down.

OCZ have had several bad batches of RAM.

A couple of their makes have had shocking reviews (I'm looking at you Gold & Platinum).

Corsair is the best brand on the market (along with GeIL) so I'm doubtful of that being anything but a one off or you killing it somehow...

Well there's not much profit margin in DRAM, so they could easily be cussing costs in quality control.

F*!$ing Costs!

;)

Seriously though, that's my suspicion as well - QC is usually in the forefront of idiotic cost saving. I suspect they might have also gone for cheaper insulators that are degrading really very quickly in transport & storage.
