Hi,
My boss wants us to produce some visuals of how a website we're working on will look on an iPad. As we don't currently own an iPad, I need to do a low-tech version - printed on pieces of paper!!
So, I need a screenshot of the iPad version of Safari - ideally in both landscape and portrait modes. Just an empty page, as that will be filled with our design. I've done a Google search, but I need something at original size, not resized (which most of what on Google is).
Can some kind soul help me out and PM me with 2 screenshots please?!! Thankyooo!

I can't help with an iPad, but I think if you download the iPad SDK and install it (along with XCode) you could possibly run the iPad simulator to check? I'm pretty sure Freeway also allows you to preview it. I know it's no match for the real thing, but could be useful...

Yup, it's the iOS Simulator, and it seems to work: The advantage of this is you'll get the proper rendering of the website, although I believe it's pretty similar to desktop Safari.

Don't think I'm allowed to install anything here, I was hoping to just get two screen shots that we can drop the design into. I'll see if I can pop into an Apple Store later and take some screenshots - I was just wondering if anyone here could save me the time and hassle of doing that.
EDIT: No worries, I've found something I can use now!

REmember that the iPad pixel resolution is 1024x768, so you’ll need to scale your projected design to fit those dimensions.

I've seen a couple of web iPads (e.g. ipadpeek.com) which look like an iPad, but use the browser on your computer to render it which may give unreliable results. I recon if someone zips up the iPhone SDK for you, you could probably run the simulator from your desktop/USB drive. I recently deleted the SDK but kept the simulator and it didn't work...

Ohh, that looks useful - I've managed to find some screen shots, which will do the job nicely for this time, will bookmark that site though in case I need something more "real" (without shelling out 400-odd quid!!). Cheers everyone, I've just got to design the site now!

I'm sure you've told him as much, but if your boss wants to dev. for something, he really should have that something readily available to him/his dev. team; tell him to get an iPad.

Heh, you don't know my boss very well - I've lost count of the times I've asked for one!! But I WILL continue, until I'm blue in the face... Cheers!
