Intel seem to have caught Nvidia's naming diarrhoea. The same CPU name for different socket CPU's...... They could easily have said Core i3, i5 and i8 instead of i3, i5, and i7. The switch between 7 and 8 would have made everything clear.

I got the impression that you could buy an i7 but it could be i5 based but has a feature that puts it into the i7 bracket.

Can I have some of whatever their marketing dept is inhaling?

El Reg have an article on the same subject: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/06/18 ... ng_revamp/
They say Intel will have a star rating to easily show which processors are higher end or lower end. Read the comments as they demolish the idea.
