I just use the additional language downloads on my Vista Ultimate install. I can switch languages really easily, no special install, just select them from the Windows Update tool... |

Does that actually change the language of the Vista install? It always annoyed me that changing the languages on XP was completely impossible without totally re-installing. Yes you can change the default language for applications and keyboard etc. but you could not change the language of the OS itself. My parents have the XP edition familiale, and it drives me nuts because the words just don't translate when you only have basic French! I want "Network Neighbourhood" and it's called something like "train of working lines". I can't remember the details, but my mum is fluent and when she translates for me it still means nothing! I've never tried with Vista. I should probably have a fiddle with 7, but it never occurred to me that they might have changed the rules. |

As we all well know the only language that matter is English(US). So we should all just use that and be happy with it. |

I'll have proper English thanks, and that usually means using English (UK) (which should be called just "English" thank you, it's our sodding language after all) or English (Canada). |

Yep, I switch between English and German all the time. The only thing that didn't get changed was the names of the Services. All user dialog boxes, start menu etc. takes on the specified language. It is one of the reasons I opted to go with the Ultimate version. |
