I've been given a WMV file that refuses to play in VLC (or WMP for that matter), not even the audio works. I'm assuming this is likely to do with the compression codec used? :?

If so, is there a way round it? VLC plays damn near anything you throw at it, so I'm curious more than anything...

Copy protected?

Have you tried downloading the ffshow codecs? Otherwise, it could be a trick to try and get you to download malware disguised as a codec... Is the video from a reputable source?

I'd try installing the K-Lite codec, if you haven't already done so.

Absolutely nothing is working with it, so I'm assuming the file is corrupt in some way, I'll get another copy of it... Thanks for the help anyway! :)
