Post subject:  cpu heatsink, fans, and a new mouse!

Hello!

I stopped my cpc subscription over a year ago since i bought my computer and realised that computer parts dont really change much...

saying that, i need some help finding a heatsink for my 1336 socket i7 920, its currently got stock on it, and its loud, and my room gets hot, so it needs to be good at cooling and fairly quiet!
including this, my case is the antec 300, and I feel with 120mm in the front, back and the 200mm big boi fan, it needs another in the front and possibly on the side, so what quiet, cheap (id rather not spend over £10 per fan..) fans are there? ive looked on scan and tbh I dont know what is good or not.

lastly, my microsoft habu mouse has not given up the chase, but rather started to make me want to throw it at a wall. it double clicks randomly, and now half of the scroll wheel (when you are actually scrolling iykwim) doesnt work, ive tried to fix but to no avail ;'( so a think a new mouse is in order, i have fairly large hands but dont need a million buttons, logitech mx518 looks good but if there is anything better for the same price please do tell me

thank you for any advice you lovely people can give me :D

If you want it then just payment re. postage is fine or if you collect it (Northampton) then you can have it for nowt.

Odd.

3 months ago I was purchasing that, then all of a sudden you stopped communicating!

Anyway, Cam, Coolermaster SickleFlow fans are great and around £5 - akasa Apaches are even better, but no LED and are about £12 each.

Mouse wise the MX518 is awesome, but thought you had a Razor? Or am I thinking of your mousemat? :P If you want to spend a bit more the G500 has a few more features (on the fly dpi change, more weight, customisables weights) but has a dodgy scroll wheel according to reviews.

Cooler depends on how much you want to spend, for £27 the Corsair A50 is absolutely awesome and one of the best out there.

The Antec 300 doesnt take Big Boys, the roof fan is 140mm. unless youve modified it?

For the 120mm fans, I use Thermalright FDB fans. At 900rpm they are unhearable over the rest of my PC, which is very quiet to begin with. The lower RPM versions are available cheaper from the same site, but I use the 1600rpm models :) A bit of advice I can give you on the case is to remove the grills over the front fan mounts: they disrupt the air flow and make a lot of noise, especially at high fan speeds. You can cut them out quite easily with a Dremel, or something similar.
