hi all, i had a system crash and purchased a new hard disk and have reinstalled windows etc etc. i have the old hard disk as a slave drive on the pc. on this slave drive i have found various folders which i cannot get access to "System Volume Information" for example I have tried to set the attributes -H and -S but still cannot delete this folder. does anyone have any ideas as to how I might remove this? i have a suspiscion it may contain malware regards Alan |

Right click the volume & take ownership of it. Give yourself full control & then delete what you like |

How about copying the stuff you need onto your new HDD (and asuming no info you need is in these protected folders) and then formatting the old one |

If you just want to delete them then try installing a little program called "unlocker" http://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/3000- ... 93998.html That should then let you highlight the file and using unlocker force-delete it. |
