I'm having trouble with my "new" PC.

For some reason, it won't connect to secure servers. I've tried different browsers, and I've tried a re-boot.

The servers I've tried are GMail, Facebook and one of my own.

All three work from other computers on the same connection.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what, but it wouldn't be something in 'Internet Settings' in the Control Panel would it? Do other browsers look at that config at all?

I think some of the networking stuff is missing in that particular version of xp

What , Where? Who said the version of xp being used?

On a different thread. It's a very stripped version of XP

Hmmm, I don't think it's because of my XP version. Others who use it don't have the same problem. It is a new installation though.

Oh well, when I finally get my hands on a (perfectly legal I promise ) version of Windows XP SP3 I'll install that - would be better to run the same OS as the person I'm making software for.
