As long as you don't mind running it at low resolution (i.e. 1280x1024 or lower) and low/medium settings, you should be able to put something together.

Here's a chart showing how the game performs on differtent GPUs.

Go to PC world, buy a Compaq SR5601UK for £200, a 9600GT for £70 and 2GB of ram off the interwebs for about £25.

I have this, and play Warhead @ 12x10 maxxed out with 2xAA. :)

But it runs Crysis Warhead, and costs less than £300. Is this not what the man asked?

(PS. I didn't buy it. Told parents I wanted moneys for christmas to build a PC, were having none of it and went and bought me one. It sucked so I upgraded it. :))

No, when did I say that? :/

I could play crysis on medium at 800x600 on my 7300GT, but even then I got like 10fps.

When I get back from this school trip tomorrow, I'll grab some benchmarks off my big PC (on my laptop atm)

But no, I can't remember ever saying I could run it maxxed out on a 7300. That would be silly, impossible and make me look like an idiot.

You can save £80 on it now bringing it to £280ish by using the Windows 7 RC beta, which is free instead of Home premium (you can get an OS another time.

Entirely depends on the res you want to play it at mind

Also I would hunt around for a 4gb set of memory, will help out a fair whack in keeping it smooth (and a 4gb set is £10-£15 or so more currently)

I've made my mind up. I'll be going for the GTX260 and keeping an 8800GTS for PhysX over the HD4870 on it's own.

It looks like that's the older version of the card 192 shader processors and 65nm architecture.

This is the new version with 216 shader processors and 55nm architecture.

Comparison of the two cards here.

The link I have provided is a bit more money but you get Terminator Salvation with it and it's the faster card.
