I'm putting together a simple site for a colleague (not my normal remit), which will have a basic menu, and a few contact/info pages. Nothing heavy. He'd like to have a main image on the homepage which changes every x seconds (essentially a slideshow scrolling through images of his services) without resorting to a bit of Flash, any ideas? I'll probably add a pictogram depicting which shows which "slide" you are on too. |

I'd look at jQuery - I did a simple fading JPEG slideshow using a fairly simple jQuery script for a colleague's wife's website recently. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be. It just consists of one external .js file and a bit of code in the place that you want the images to appear in, listing as many JPEG files as you want. |
