Hi all,

I was playing Fallout 3:NV when the program crashed (as it has done several times before). After using Task Manager to kill the program, instead of a usable desktop the screen froze.

After running out of options I hit the hard reset button....

The computer booted OK into Windows 7 (I said Start Windows Normally, after all it was only a game crash)....

I have two moniors. The primary is fine (on analog output from HD6850).

HOWEVER, the extended desktop area on the secondary monitor (on DVI) is now drawn in a lurid pink hue!!! You can still see the widgets and backgound etc. (it's not just a solid colour)

What happened and how do I fix it!?!?

Or do I have to live with the exceptional yet unique extra style this provides ...? :?

You need to determine if it is the card or monitor first. Can you swap the monitors, or perhaps try a different monitor if ports don't allow it?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Thanks!

Swapping cables didn't work, but restarting with only the second monitor plugged in forced it to (I assume) re detect the monitors and change the display settings, so the second time I rebooted with the usual configuration the pink was gone!
