HI,
I'm not sure this is the right forum, mods can you move if not?
I have some spreadsheets that I want to be able to update from a number of differnent places, work, home & netbook(anywhere). Can anyone recommend a free and easy way to do this? I have set up zumodrive from my yahoo a/c but this isn't updating as i would like from home...

Dropbox is the generally recommended method.

Yes drop box is pretty good. It has a 2Gb limit. Most file transfer are less than that. If you use an iPhone or iPad then you can also sync data between them as well.
