Post subject:  Hardware or software issue?

Built a PC for work on Monday and all seemed well but today working on it again it is stuck in a reboot loop

I've so far:-

1) Changed memory
2) Swapped psu
3) Changed hard drive
4) Changed board
5) Tried using graphics card and on-board graphics.
6) Underclocked cpu from default 3.4Ghz to 3Ghz
7) Turned off turbo-boost in bios

All above have made no difference - machine will boot up in safe mode but not in normal mode.

Next step is to perhaps look at changing cpu from the i7 2600k to perhaps the i5 2400 and trying to uninstall the Intel graphics driver and run machine using dedicated card.

Any other suggestions?

Are you using an OS image or doing a straight install?

Straight install from Win7 Pro DVD then using mobo DVD for the drivers etc

"most often" found it's graphics. Try boot to safe mode, uninstall the graphics card and power off/shut down Then reboot. should detect the card again, install drivers from the graphics disc cancel and run the latest driver installer. Worked for me, but I had had a half bottle of wine also.

Well well - prize goes to Mike :D

Disabled the on-board graphics and popped a dedicated graphics card into the 2nd PCI Express slot and, so far, it has behaved without any issues.
