Morning all,

I've got the following computer:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz Socket 775 1333FSB 4MB L2 Cache
RAM: Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5 X2 (i.e. there is 8GB)
GFX: MSI 8400GS 512MB DDR2 DVI VGA Out PCI-E Graphics Card
Mobo: ASUS P5N-T Deluxe nForce 780i SLI Intel 775 DDR2 ATX MOTHERBOARD
HDD: Seagate 500GB 3.5" Barracuda SATA-III 6Gb/s Hard Drive - 7200RPM 16MB Cache
PSU: Sumvision 500W 20+4pin SATA 80mm Fan PSU
Optical drive: Something out of another computer, known to work

I want to install Windows 7 on it, but I can't :?
My install disk (a copy of the now lost original) doesn't seem to work, I've tried following MS's guide to putting the ISO onto a USB stick, but that doesn't work either. I can use a USB stick with Ubuntu on and boot from that, and I can boot from a Windows XP disk I found in the office...I know my copied disk works as I've used it on a previous machine.

Many thanks,
Ben

Sorry, completely forgot to add that!

The computer boots, I can either let it check the CD/DVD drive first, or I specifically tell it boot from CD/DVD, it thinks about it for a bit with a flashing cursor, then reboots/boots from HDD.
