Just done a reinstall and about 15-20 updates are showing as failed in the history. I have checked and they don't show up as successful anywhere but they are not showing in available updates either. Is there any way I can install them? |

Sometimes update fail because they are not actually required, could you give us an indication of what the updates are/were (eg. were they drivers?) There is a way to download updates manually, but I can't for the life of me remember where to get them. |

There were a couple of drivers but Vista SP1 has just appeared so I am D/Ling that now. I don't know why they don't put that one out first though. I'll see what happens after SP1. |

I'm going through the exact same process on my new Tosh. I've spent over 9000 hours so far installing updates, many of which have failed. I then realised it had a trial version of Mcafee on it. Since I got rid of that, everything is actually moving again. I should be finished by next weekend! Quite why a brand new PC has software that's so out of date is both bemusing and frustrating... |
