Finally got fed up with the lack of keypad on the wireless KB supplied with my iMac, so plugged in a wired jobby and rebooted...

Every time I boot now I get the classic "beeep" continually repeated until I hit any key to cease and desist such ridiculousness.

This is now getting very annoying, any thoughts how to avoid/solve?

(no keys stuck, keyboard still covered in the plastic it arrived in, so not a coffee spill cockup, wired KB temporarily nicked from my G4 where it worked perfectly...)

Cheers muchly,

:)

Wasn't there a firmware update for those at some point in the past?
Is there a chance it missed it?

Check the Mac knowledge base. They sometimes have hot fixes for specific things (i.e. legacy accesories, etc...) but they are not released as part of a software update.

I'll have a looky now too.
