I know that I could have Googled it, but I thought it would be better to ask if anyone here has used any Anti-Virus/Firewall packages for Windows Server 2003 SBS that they could recommend, as I would rather trust your collective judgements than those of Internet "strangers" I'm guessing that there won't be any free options available, but I also don't want to spend too much... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, John. Edit to add: I've had a quick look and found CLAMWIN Anyone used this? |

Clamwin isn't too bad, AVAST was fine (if they still do a sbs version free). AVG works. Do you need exchange protection as well? |

Yes, I will need Exchange protection. Isn't it included as standard in Server solutions? |

I've usually used Trend Micro's corporate software, although my new employer currently use Symantec's corporate offering. |

I use Symantec Endpoint Multi-Tier which has exchange protection built in but it's not cheap. |

And here lies the problem... I am! As it stands I'm now looking at ClamWin or Avast. I'll have to have a much closer look at the Open Source solution, as I can't remember if that offers Exchange/ISA Server protection, but the prices for Avast seem reasonable, and I suppose there's always the 60 day trial. Edit to add: Think I'm going to give ClamAV a miss, purely as the information is not easy enough to find on their website, and I haven't got the time to mess about searching... Any alternatives to Avast? |

Avast & AVG work. I use vmware antispam appliances (they're free) to keep exchange free of junk. |

Not if you want free multi-tier protection. You could always sign up as a Symantec partner & get the software for free (NFR copies ftw) |

Not sure if I'd qualify, but I'll have a look now... Is this gonna get expensive? ![]() |
