I decided to give my old desktop with Xp on it to my sister. Fully updated it etc.
Then I made a fatal error. I decided to remove ubuntu and win 7 from it, so not to confuse her. All was going well until I altered the MBR.
Stupid I know, but I thought thats ok I have the Xp disk with a valid licence. I can just use that to fix it and all should be well. Can I find the damn disk, like Hell I can
Has anyone got a link to a prog so I can repair it quickly and easily?

That is in the Recovery Console, accessed from the XP install disk.

Which he doesn't have...

I've not tried it, but you could have a look at: http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

XPquick says it lets you fix the mbr.

Personally, I've used one of several "repair disks" that came with things like Paragon disk manager. There's often a free copy on the PCpro cover.

I have a copy of an XP disk somewhere at home (at work at moment) which I can look out tonight if you are still stuck.

Just PM me your details and I will see if I can get it posted to you.

No worries - you can keep the disk as I have several at work if I need one.
