Basically, the future of Flash on Linux will depend on Google Chrome...

Cool, I don't like Chrome, so Linux will be another non-Flash platform for me.

That said, I have it disabled under Windows and OS X as well, I only enable it for about 1% of sites I visit anyway.

I know what you mean, Dave. It's just a tad worrying that in order to get something you might want/need, you have to download a whole other app for it.

They had this story over on ZDNet, saying why this isn't a bad thing. Linux has 2% share and is a minor OS and not worth Adobe's time and Chrome is overtaking Firefox in market share anyway... :?

My reply: OS X only has 6% share, so is only a minor OS. Chrome is more popular than Safari, so Google will be making the only Flash add-in for OS X as well...

The performance of Flash in Chrome on Linux far surpasses the performance for other browsers anyway.

Also not forgetting that most die-hard Linux users would rather be seen dead than use Flash.

Only those zealots using GNU/Linux will care.

Those of us using Linux don't give a toss. ;)

I think only you and Richard Stallman make the distinction between Linux and GNU/Linux, Linus certainly doesn't.
