Post subject: | Ram query |
Hello, I am upgrading the ram in my computer and would appreciate help with the following: 1. Is there going to be a performance difference if I buy 8GB of ram now, and then a further 8GB down the line VS buying a 16GB pack now? 2. Is there a noticeable performance difference between 1600MHz and 1800MHz and upwards etc? 3. I have a Z77 board with an i7 2600k which ram would you recommend if I am using the pc for video conversion, photo editing, gaming? Thanks in advance! |

Welcome to the Forum A question Do you plan to overclock your processor? However More memory: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/ram-memory-upgrade,review-32053-9.html - generally yes Faster memory: A slight one http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/core-i7-870-1156,review-31748-9.html - up to yu if you really need that extra 1% or 2% Make: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/dual-channel-ram-ddr3-4gb,review-31904.html or http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/8gb-ddr3-ram,review-31802-9.html |

Also, make sure you are running a 64 bit version of Windows or it's a largely pointless exercise. |

I still have 16Gb of DDR3 ram looking for a good home - its 4 x 4Gb low-profile Kingston ram - look on the For Sale part of the forum. |
