Okay. We're getting a new "family laptop" for the missus and our son to use.
It's not going to be doing anyting too demanding and we have penty of external storage on the NAS box.
I've found something in our price rage with a large, relatively (for the price) high resolution screen.
The only thing is I can't decide wether it's worth paying extra for a Core i3 over a Pentium or not.

These are the two we're looking at:
Pentium
Core i3.
The only other extra feature is bluetooth (which we won't use)
So what do you think. Is the i3 worth the extra £23?

EDIT

Forget it.
I just noticed the cheap one doesn't have a webcam. i3 it is. (Unless anyone knows of anything better in the next few days before I order.)

Was going to say I would expect the i3 to be slightly quicker as that has hyperthreading whereas the Pentium doesn't.

I'm always cautious about the hard drives in laptops - today, for example, I had a new i3 laptop but using a 5400rpm hard drive :x so making is slooow. Doesn't matter too much as hard drive got pulled out for SSD anyway but that is another factor that could drag down a decent laptop.

i3 all the way, we buy a lot of Pentium stuff for customers, and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. If the difference had been a couple of hundred quid, I'd have thought twice about it, but for 20 quid, it is a no brainer.

Yeah, we need the webcam for speaking to our mate in Australia.
As much as I'd love an SSD in there, we have a very limited budget (sub £400).

Hmmmm. I could maybe stretch the budget without telling my wife* and get the Asus laptop with THIS. I could then use the supplied 320GB drive as a USB for myself.
I'm assuming I could somehow resize the partition from 320Gb to 250GB without losing any data.

* Caz, stay away from Facebook.
