Just in case anyone is interested, the cheap Snow Leopard for "qualifying purchases" is open for business. I've just ordered my copy of Snow Leopard for £7.95 here http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/uptodate/
The only person I know of who has also bought a new mac recently is Linux_user, but just in case anyone else has bought one since June 6th...and up to December apparently.
