In German

€249 is £200, give or take a few pence. German VAT rate is pretty much the same as UK, so It's probably going to be £200.

Possibly :) although I suspect Apple will think they'll sell truckloads of the things anyway, so they've got no reason to care about the "And all for under 200 pounds!" tomfoolery.

Do we know if they really exist yet? I'd probably get one if it's under £200 mostly as a first foray into iOS, but also because I find my iPad sized WebOS tablet to be rather heavy.

I guess it would be a sensible price. It's about 30% more expensive than the midrange "competition", but you can't really directly compare it to Android tablets.

There were strong rumours that the iPad mini would be WiFi-only, but that list suggests it will be on "Celluar", or 3G/4G to us English-ites.

Apple usually just replace the Euro with a £ sign, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's £249. Could be interested if it's sub-£200 though!

That's the race to the bottom. That's not a game Apple takes part in.

Yeah.

Here's a screengrab from the current German Applestore page

And here's the equivalent from the UK applestore page

As you can see, completely identical prices.

Taking the nearest priced item (the iPod touch) as a guide for a bit of arithmetic, the UK equivalent price of a €249 item would £201.34. Apple seem to be operating on between 1.2 and 1.4 € to the £ with the rate changing as the price increases.
