Sorry if this has been covered before - I did search but the threads didn't seem conclusive!
I'd like to hook up my 2008 (non-unibody) MacBook Pro, running 10.6.8 (although may upgrade to 10.8 soon) to my HDTV. I'm going to take advantage of a free LoveFilm Instant offer, but my only option to get it on my set is via the Mac (until my TV get s dedicated LF app).
Is the best option just a DVI-HDMI cable? I assume that's vision only so I'll need a separate audio cable?
Is there another option? Bear in mind that I'm not overly flush, but may consider AppleTV box perhaps if it was going to be worthwhile.
Thanks!
Ben

Using an Apple TV which can directly connect to an HD TV and can also connect to the laptop via wifi could solve your problem in one go. The only potential problem is adding the wifi password. Mine is 50 digits long and took a long time to get setup with the Apple remote. Though there could be a cable/adaptor combo that does it.

I was thinking about this, and the only response I could come up with was why?! I know it's possible, but why?!

And randomly generated. That is why password managers are essential.

Cable looks pretty cheap - may just go on and get one anyway...

I presumed it was generated. But I don't really see the benefit of so many characters, especially for something that could be needed on a device where you can't install your password manager (As was the case here).

It is only first time set ups that are problematic. I can use cut and paste within the iPhone and iPad.
