Remember the sales executive that Apple hired from Dixons and everybody in the UK went 'er... wut?' And pretty much the first thing he decided to do when he got hold of the AppleShops was to slash in shop support staff and institute hard sell tactics and strict sales targets? And it all went a bit wrong?

Fired.

Line up to LOL over here ---> .

Did Cook hire him? Did he remind Cook of a young Cook? My God there had to be some sort of whimsical decision made

The only surprise is it lasted this long!!

Browlett's well publicised staffing c0ck-ups in the Retail stores were a sign that this relationship wasn't going to last long. If he wasn't pushed (which I think he was), then I suspect his ego took such a bashing that resigning was his only option in the circumstances. He should never have been hired in the first place IMO.

Scott Forstall has also been fired, presumably for either Map-Gate or Siri, both of which have so far have fallen short of Apple's expectations...

But let's not feel too sorry for him, he's done alright out of it...

Forstall may have seen it coming. Back in May he cashed in 95% of his Apple stock worth $38.7 million. The shares were the remains of a retention bonus granted to Forstall in 2008.

On the positive side, Jonny Ive is now also advising on the software UI as well as leading the hardware design, so hopefully that will end this skeuomorphism malarkey in Apple's software. I hope.

It appears Forstall was booted out because he wouldn't sign that apology letter regarding Maps

Or because him and Jonathan Ive just weren't getting on. Either is a pretty reasonable theory.

I read that it was because of the design of iOS apps. They were inconsistent with overall look and feel of apps.
