Root them for what?
Android supports tethering out of the box, there's no need to root your Nexus.

3-Mobile network? We use them on all our Samsung Galaxy Tab's so can see no reason why they wouldn't work for you. |

Does he mean a dongle for out and about? Though where possible I tether my phone like you're suggesting. |

Tethering is also available on the Three network. |

I would still check that the plan you have does actually have tethering. I have the One Plan which includes tethering, not all plans do. |
