All my exe files stopped working, I mended the registry and now all the exe files work, but any .lnk shortcut now opens Starcraft 2 (because while the exe files weren't working I accidentally associated the SC2 link to SC2 without realising it would apply to all shortcuts.)

Now when I try to tell Windows to stop opening SC2, it refuses to and wants me to tell it which other program to associate with the .lnk extension... I don't want to run one specific program, I want to just shortcut to the original exe whatever it is.... Windows XP.

 Help much appreciated!

EDIT, I fixed it, nothing to see here! I just deleted the .lnk extension and created a new one with the function of shortcut instead of open. ;)

You can tell I'm not a software person.
