A UK software developer has released a "purity ring" application for Apple's iPhone.

Users can take a purity pledge - a promise to refrain from sex until marriage - and then display a spinning purity ring graphic on the phone.

The application goes on sale at the official App Store for £0.59 ($0.99).

Well in this case IIRC it's not so much 'keep' as 'not start'. Surely the obvious thing is though that this app is little more than something where you click 'OK' and then it displays a graphic and charging any sort of money for it at all is some sort of oil snakery.

Mind you, you have to think that people who'll be thinking about getting it would have to have some level of gullibility in my opinion...

My thoughts exactly Jon.

I managed to stay "pure" (although I swore like a trooper) for many years without the aid of a ring... Then I spent the following years wishing I'd found the "right" woman much earlier.

Nothing wrong with having sex, nothing wrong with abstaining, but you don't need to advertise it... :?

This purity ring thing is somewhat counter productive.

Am I the only one to think it might make more sense if you wore it on your knob?
