Is there any way to just use the macbook as a base unit?
I want to have it with the screen closed & plugged in to a monitor with a KB & mouse. Don't want 2 screens running or to have it open (a bit like a docked PC laptop)

Couldn't you just set-up the secondary display, and then set the laptop screen to turn off when closed?

I was wondering about this myself. The vents on the unibody macbook is where the screen joins onto the body...I was wondering if it would get enough airflow with the screen closed.

Once again, it's so simple that it doesn't occur to try it.

It was the bluetooth bit that got me (didn't know you could wake via it), most windows laptops have a simple button to turn off the internal dispay
