So, here's the thing,
Last year I built myself a nice new Tower PC for Games, Office Photo / Video editing Etc.

At the time the consensus of opinion from various fora seemed to be that a 60Gb SDD would be the best size for the Windows 7 drive, and then all programs and data would sit on the various other HDD I already had. This seemed to work at the start, once I had moved the "My Documents" folders, but as time has gone on various programs (iTunes especially) seems to have taken root in the C: drive and eaten the available space. I am now showing less than 4Gb free and often have to clear space to get stuff done.

I am looking to re-install Windows, possibly next weekend, but don't want to find that in a year or so I am facing the same issue. So, is it realistic to try to live with a 60Gb Windows drive, or am I better getting a larger SSD for Windows and using the smaller one for, say photo and video editing?

if you have to use that abomination called itunes make sure you put the library not on your main drive.

I have a 1Tb drive dedicated to the iTunes library and Steam, but the main program insists on using the C drive to store the back-ups and there doesn't seem to be a way to make it select a different drive for these.

when installing iTunes install the program to the 1TB HDD instead of installing it to the SSD
this way any and all backups will be saved to the drive that iTunes is installed on/too

you can also move the swap/page file to the larger HDD and set it so the min/max are the same ...

Have you cleaned out unneeded patches and restore points?

I have cleared out everything I can find that can be cleared to get the 4Gb.

TBH, I thought I had installed iTunes to a separate drive but it would appear not, I'll move that and see if it helps.
