Afternoon all,

My Messages.app for OS X doesn't have the same messages that my iPhone's Messages.app has. Even though many of the messages are iMessages, the phone has complete conversations, while OS X has, well, nothing...

The messages on my iPhone are stores in sms.db, while the OS X ones are stored in chat.db. I've tried just copying the phone db to the name/location of the OS X db, but this doesn't work. Does anyone know of a vay of converting one to the other so that I can get my messages on the Mac?

Many thanks,
Ben

This was a major headache for a mate of mine too.
In the end we just had to setup all his devices again for iMessages making sure the same user ID was selected.
I don't think all the old messages moved over to the Mac, but certainly any new ones he got now appear on both iPhone and Mac.

Have you checked that both iMessage accounts are using the same ID?

Mark

The Mac was set up for my gmail address, while the phone started conversations from my phone number. I've changed the phone to use the gmail address.

Still, it seems odd because if you text me (using my phone number) using your iDevice, it'll be converted to an iMessage and delivered to my phone, however I won't get it on my Mac, or will I?
