Photoshop shortcuts playing up?!

Hi

Over the last few days I've noticed my Shift+F5 (Fill) shortcut being confused with 'Grow'.... I've checked my shortcuts and all fine, tried to add a new one for 'Grow' but it's still happening, even though the Keyboard Shortcut panel is correct...

Any suggestions? I'm thinking a binning of the preference file is the most likely solution, but was hoping to avoid as it might take a while to get everything back the way it was!

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks!

Ben

Check that isn't not conflicting with an Apple shortcut. I've had to turn off nearly every single Apple system short cut to get Adobe apps to accept the ones I've been using for the last 20 or so years (using Qickeys before Adobe apps allowed shortcut customisation). I'm still having difficulty getting Photoshop to accept some Control-Command combinations.

It's definitely an Adobe thing, as when I try to enter a new shortcut for 'Fill', it tells me it's already assigned to 'Grow'.... but when I check the shortcut for 'Grow' (which is blank anyway) and try to add something completely new, and go back to re-enter the actual 'Fill' shortcut it still tell's me that it the shortcut for 'Grow'.... gggrrrr.

I'm doing a general bit of Mac housekeeping this morning with permissions etc, so if that doesn't help I'll delete the pref file and see if that sorts it.

Thanks for the reply!

Okay, Mac permissions fixed.... didn't work. Deleted Keyboard Shortcuts file - didn't work.... deleted the Photoshop prefs file from Home > Library > Preferences... no luck there either. Weirdly, no Photoshop pref file in HD > Library > Prefs.... all the rest are there (InDesign, Illy etc)?!

There is a "com.adobe.CSXS2Preferences" - what does that relate to - doesn't look familiar!?

Help! It's driving me nuts!

Think there's an "Adobe" folder in Home > Library > Preferences

Try trashing that too, though that will reset all your other CS apps as well unless you retain any pref files within that Adobe folder for that app.

It's okay - all sorted now.

Turns out I'd loaded an action set of commands which was overriding my default settings.

I feel such a fool.
