So Windows Phone 8 has decided that it can't be bothered to sync up to my MS e-mail account account any more.
A Trawl of the MS support website reveals I'm not alone but the advice seems to be less than helpful - try deleting and re-adding the account or hard reset the phone to factory settings.
1 - I can't delete the account because the it's the MS account that I registered the phone with (so see 2).
2 - Factory reset only intermittently seems to work according to the posts on the MS website.

The other option is to raise support ticket and let MS support have a tinker with the account.
I can't help but thinking that MS should at least be able to guarantee that their own webmail services will work seamlessly with their own mobile platform without them having to tinker with individual accounts at the server end. Apparently I'm wrong.

Anyone else had this problem with WP8?

Which phone is it/settings?

Gf's phone, Lumia 820, won't sync in battery saving mode to save power

It's a Samsung ATIV S. It's not in power saving mode according to the battery indicator.
It says it's syncing/synced but the actual messages don't change even though I know there are new ones in the account.

What are the email settings? is it set to push or periodically pull?

Have you added 2 factor auth?

It's set to collect new e-mail every 30 minutes. I tried changing this setting to see if it would have any effect but it didn't.
I don't have 2 factor authentication set up.
It's meant to keep e-mail from the last 7 days (I've tried changing this as well but no effect).
All other setting are, as far as I can remember, set to the defaults they were at when I set the phone up.
