Hi Just seeing if there would be any interest here in my old 17" MacBook Pro (2008, 2.5ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 250gb, 4gb RAM) plus 23" Cinema Display before I put it on eBay?? Don't have a figure for it yet (and not quite ready yet - needs wiping etc, and new one to arrive), but just wanted to offer it up here first! Cheers, Ben |

Not having much luck with MacBooks this week.... this one I wanted to sell has now gone kaput. Seems like the old NVIDIA fail, and well out of the repair programme window.... arse... any need one for spares?! |

One of my 15 inchers went that way. Simon (Saspro) put me in touch with a company in Kingston upon Thames who are currently fixing it for £200. Whether you think that's worth the money is not my call, but we felt it was worth mending. http://www.analogic.co.uk |

I've found a couple this morning... one which reflowed the solder (or something) for around £100 - if it worked that might be worthwhile... hard to tell what I might realistically get for the MBP though... was hoping for around £400?? There another service centre which lists the repair on eBay - that one sounds more comprehensive, for around £160.... feedback seems positive... Not sure I'd feel happy which a quick fix and selling in on if it wouldn't last the buyer long.... |

No probs, tell him 'MacOS10' from mac4mac forums recommended him - you might get a better rate! He'll tell you straight if it's not worth doing or might not fix the problem, he won't just take the money like some will. |
