anyone have one and use chrome? ironically enough it is actually to block the chrome ads on youtube because they are highly inappropiate and just downright disgusting eg: one where the guy is eating like an animal making disgusting eating sounds, an even worse one where the guy is drinking coffee and is very loud in doing so another is using some cream too loud, I find all of them infuriating and just plain "illegal" has anyone any recommendations? I woudnt know which ones are the "spyware" type ones

I use Click To Flash in Safari, which blocks all Flash content unless you click on the Flash movie to start it. It's obviously a Mac based extension, but you may find similar for Chrome.

I look at something else. I also browse using tenfourfox, which doesn't support flash, but I get animated gifs instead. I know I'm an evil ad creator, but it really doesn't bother me to have ads around. The really annoying ones are mostly JavaScript anyway.

FlashBlock and NoScript here (Firefox), but they do have analogues in Chrome (although NoScripts in Chrome can't do everything NoScript does).
Ads = revenue for the site you are visiting = the site will still be there tomorrow.
Flash ads = annoying = I don't care if the site is still there tomorrow.
I'll block Flash and JavaScript ads, but let plain JPEGs through.

I am OK with adverts that are images banners - GIFs or JPEGs. What I am not OK about is Flash as they can not only sap resources, but some (which bring a video payload) obviously bring more bandwidth usage.
Flash adverts also have an annoying habit for leaking out of their predefined box to take get the whole of the page, blocking content from view. The was a lot of this on the MacUser forums IIRC, which is when Instarted blocking Flash.

I don't block ads. I love ads. Ads tell me what to buy. Without ads I would be stark bollock naked and I would never eat or drink anything. Ever. Nor would I watch anything on TV or in the cinema. I would never listen to music. My life would be meaningless. God bless ads.

I used to use Glimmerblocker as well as Click to Flash, but since websites need the revenue I removed Glimmerblocker and now rely on Click to Flash to stop the worst offenders. Plain images are fine by me, what I particularly hate are animated ads with sounds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

I don't have Flash enabled
This seems to be fairly effective at stopping Flash ads

NoScript. It doesn't block ads per say, but it does stop all the nasties that come with them.
