In MacOSX if I get sent an email with an embedded (not attached) picture then I can save a copy of the picture to the desktop by clicking and dragging it to the desktop. In Windows if I do the same then it asks me if I want to create a scrap item or an Active Desktop item. Even if I try to copy paste it asks the same things. How do I save the picture to a jpg file?! It sounds too easy for it to be this complicated. |

MS Outlook 2007. The only option I have when I right click the image is Copy. The other options (Cut, Paste, Edit Picture, Hyperlink, Insert Caption, Borders and Shading and Picture...) are all greyed out. Thanks ![]() |

I would have thought there was a better way round than that. Oh well. |

Images should always be attached as inserting them generally causes them to drop in quality. |

Hey, it's almost as many actions as it takes to display a # on a macbook, once you've found it! |

I am guessing that the image you have is attached to the email and has a little icon just above the message. This is not the case for this particular email. It has been embedded into the email. i.e. it is attached but there is no icon above the email with the jpg file icon. The only thing I have is the image in the middle of the email. I will send you the email ![]() |

I've tried it with an embedded jpeg, and it works fine for me with Outlook 2007. There's no paper clip; it was someone's signature image. Maybe it's a security setting somewhere. Does your AV have an Outlook plug-in? |

You CAN write a script to do it (I have it on my work machine, can send it tomorrow if needed) but it's generally frowned upon (In fact I think if you Bing it it comes up high on the list) |

You need a script to save an image from an email! ![]() I've not used MSN search, sorry Live search, woops I mean Bing yet. Perhaps I should give it a go. It's not the same search engine that Microsoft use for their knowledge base and tech-note searches is it? I usually fail to find what I'm looking for using that engine. ![]() |
