The people who have bought it might be able to make a go of it. The new handsets look quite good. Certainly more appealing than some handsets out there.

I know what you mean, but I'm not sure 'quite good' is going to cut it at this point.

There are a hard core who want the little keyboards and as long as they are kept happy there is the potential for Blackberry to survive and attract more people again. The new OS was actually very novel. The lack of apps was always going to be problematic, but if they can provide those inhouse cheaply it or even make to order then they could survive. It will be a matter of keeping costs down.

But the problem is they have more unsold handsets sitting in warehouses than Microsoft had Surfaces... That is a big problem.

That is a huge problem. Though the investors who made this bid might have thought about this before they bid. They could still find lots of corporate buyers willing to take them, but BYOD might be the stumbling block.
