Does anyone have experience with Lync 2013 or Lync Online?

I know it can be used as an internal chat system for text, voice and video. Can it also replace the complete telephone exchange system? If not, it seems a little redundant, considering most CTI solutions these days support text and softphones anyway...

I suspect their sales people would say Lync offers much more than just VOIP. Whether you need any of that extra stuff..

IIRC Lync online is just Lync hosted for you by MS. I'd be careful about that, we're hosting some stuff on MS servers and the AD connections & syncing are causing us merry hell.

Yeah, I think, of we went for it, we'd probably go local server.

Just set up a 365 account for testing.

Does it work with terminal server? We use Igel and Wyse thin clients? Or with VOIP telephones?
