My Mum has just got a new Galaxy S3 (unlocked off of Amazon) and is waiting for her new sim to arrive.
In the mean time she was trying to connect to the wifi in the house but it's coming up as disabled. A Google search suggests this might not just be the curse of my Dad and technology at work.
Anyone on here experienced the same sort of thing and if so what was the solution? As I'm 300 miles away I can't pop round and see what's going on myself.

The WiFi isn't hidden or have Mac address filtering on it?
When I got my s3 it connected fine after I had selected the right wifi and just needed to enter the pasword

Never had any problems, apart from the time I dropped mine and it disconnected the antennas for WiFi and Bluetooth.

I don't have access to the router to check what the wifi settings are and trying to get my Dad to describe it over the phone is the sort of thing that fills me with dread.
From memory the last time I was up there the wifi isn't hidden and doesn't have filtering (My ATIV S connected without much hassle).

I have a sneaking suspicion the problem might actually be the POS router supplied by TalkTalk as the wifi connection does seem a bit erratic.

A wee update.
Apparently my Dad can't type in the router password properly (he'd managed to miss off the last 2 characters each time he did it)
