'lo childs

I'd like to replace the current internal laptop HDD.
At the moment it has a 500GB one but I'd like to replace it with a 1TB drive.

Anyone here have any solid recommendations for a good and reliable replacement brand/make/model?

Mark

Dunno about in MacBooks, but I've used 1TB Samsung Spinpoints in my NAS box (which takes 2.5" drives) and they've performed admirably - been spinning continually for ages with no problems so far.

Hi Mark,

You should give serious consideration to a 7200RPM drive such as this:

Hitachi (HGST) Travelstar - check user reviews at this link.

Reasons - fastest (no suitable 10,000rpm) available, *quiet(er), **lower power consumption.

* & ** - dependent your current drive specs, but will NOT be noisier NOR use more power/generate more heat.

HTH,

Ian.

PS - Have installed/used several of these - all still going strong!

Why not replace the HDD with a SSD then put a 1tb in-place of the CD drive?
