Post subject:  Confusing Excel auto replace

I have a user with an Excel spreadsheet (2007), which automatically replaces his name in one column, but not the rest of the sheet! I've had a look at the formatting of the cell and it has standard (I changed it to Text, but no difference)...

I can't see any auto-texts applied to the cell.

Basically, if he types "Badziong" into column B, it gets replaced with "Bath", but if he types it into columns A, C, D, E etc. it stays as-is. We tried changing it to "Hr. Badziong", which works as a temporary fix, but I'd like to find out why it is doing it...

Sounds like conditional formatting in column B.

select a cell in B and on teh home tab select conditional formatting .

Hmm, got the spreadsheet and it works fine on my machine! :?

I checked the conditional formatting, but it didn't show anything. It looks like it is either his profile or something on his machine! :?

It could be auto correct options but that would work on all cells/columns.

Is there any VBA attached to the workbook?

First thought was autocorrect, it isn't that, and there are no macros... :?

Just that spreadsheet, as far as I can see. He is back in the office tomorrow, so I'll see if I can see anything then.

if its all spreadsheets he creates send him a blank you created if that is ok then its his master template that is holding the cause of it. so just save your blank as his normal.xlt ( I think thats what its called ).
