Merging folder contents

Somehow I've got two near-identical folders on two volumes on the same computer - I think at some point, most probably after the system-restore/backup/re-loading of my personal content post-laptop-warranty repair I must have spliced/duplicated them - and now they've drifted apart - I suspect thanks to certain apps. remembering certain save paths different to others.

Now, clearly, I don't need 2x15GB of identical (non-deliberate) folders - only the 1x15GB - but going through 12000+ files checking for the most current version, manually, is er - not an option.

How might I readily merge the contents of both?

If I'd read this half an hour ago I could have told you the name of the app I used for am almost identical problem. I think it was called something like vista duplicate file checker... Hang on, I'll do a quick Google.
