Just updated to 10.9.4 from 10.9.3 using the Combo Updater, and I thought I'd check and see if Flash Player was up-to-date afterwards and noticed an odd quirk in its settings window now... ![]() Not sure if this is due to the 10.9.4 update or just an Adobe bug, but now it identifies itself as "NPAPI Plug-in..." where it used to say "Flash Player Plugin...". Also mentions a "PPAPI Plugin is not installed" too - don't recall that being listed either. Probably nothing to worry myself with, but just wondered if anyone else is seeing the same thing? I know, I should expect these little quirks from Adobe. |

It seems that both NPAPI and PPAPI are closley related/tied to Google Chrome. Dunno why it is saying one is installed when the other ain't, though. I'll check my Mac tomorrow - can't check now as I'm in work. Mark |

Yeah, I wondered that too, except I only use Safari on this Mac and don't have Google Chrome installed. A search for NPAPI only found results for Adobe Acrobat, unless Adobe is getting its plugins mixed up? Safari's plugins settings reports it correctly as Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.145 so I guess it's just a programmer's error in the System Preferences pane. No worries, I'm not concerned - I could probably uninstall Flash Player and not miss it nowadays! |

For what it's worth, I have just checked my Mac and it is displaying exactly the same as you have in your screenshot, and I don't have Chrome installed on here either. Odd. I didn't update using the combo updater either. Mark |
