Even Gruber is now admitting that the '4.7 & 5./5. inch iPhones will be announced in September' stories are too numerous and from too many different sources to be ignored. Given that he's done a pretty interesting and detailed analysis on the possible pixel resolutions and densities such devices might have. here It's kind of interesting even if you're not interested in iPhones per se - there's a fair amount of it that is applicable to all touch displays, such as the optimal size of a tappable target and what have you. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not sure I want anything bigger than my current iPhone. I tend to want to be able to use my phone one-handed and be able to reach the entire screen with my thumb, and bigger phones means that isn't really feasible. |

My HTC one X plus has a 4.7" screen and it's perfect for one handed use. |

I think the 6+ is a step too far for me. Any bigger and cargo trousers will be back in fashion through necessity. |

I made a cardboard cut-out for my boss to test. Surprisingly it fits in my breast pocket or trouser pocket. It is much smaller and narrower than a Galaxy Note or Lumia 1520. |

How easy is it to cover the whole screen area with your thumb? |

I get about 2/3 of the screen covered without stretching my thumb beyond its limits, although I haven't tried it with a real screen so I can't say for sure how practical or is. But you are in two hand territory for intensive use. I would guess I could type an SMS or a web URL Etc. with one hand, but selecting things at the top of the screen would be beyond my capabilities with one hand. IIRC you are a lot bigger than me and hence have larger hands. If you can't cover the whole screen with a thumb, I have no hope. Will stick to the standard 6. |

Yeah and Apple customers moan about it! LG and Samsung customers have to pay extra for curved screens. The one time Apple give their customers the latest features for free and they moan, typical! Sent from my Lumia 1020 using Tapatalk |
